Nicklaus Signature Course - The first Signature Course in Europe

  • Renovation and drainage of all green site bunkers
  • The renovation of 3 new greens, including drainage, irrigation and associated works
  • The construction of 6 new tee complexes
  • The remodelling of 2 complete holes including earth works, shaping, drainage, irrigation and new cart paths
  • The installation of a new 300mm water transfer pipe

Nicklaus Design Course

  • Remodelling of the 16th hole due to safety concerns, including all drainage, irrigation and returfing

The project consisted of renovation works on both of the Moraleja courses.  The works included earth moving, shaping, installation of a new irrigation system and returfing the entire work area.

The  works included renovation of greens and tees due to safety concerns with encroaching housing and renovation of greenside bunkers to improve drainage and playability.  The project was carried out over the winter and spring periods and the course remained in play.

Due to the success of the works  and the minimum disruption to play, the contract was extended to reverse holes 10 and 12.  This required a complete remodel of the holes which included earthmoving, drainage, irrigation, seeding and sprigging.  The holes opened for play 3 months after completion.
